Monhegan Island has rugged coastlines and old forests known as 'Cathedral Woods'. With a backpack of pastel gear, I hiked for about 30 minutes trying to follow a trail to the north cliffs, only to find a drop off where I could see no where to go forward. I sat down and painted what I saw with the water I longed to be overlooking shrouded by tree limbs. Very quiet, alone and immersed in painting, all of a sudden a hiker came through and kept right on going to where I didn't dare to go. The next day I followed another trail to White Head and painted  the cliff hanging trail that eluded me.
